PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy Policy for Votebook

Effective Date: June 5, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Votebook. This app is owned and operated by Lucas Kery (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We built Votebook with a strict privacy-first philosophy: your data is yours, and we do not want it.

This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding your information when you use the Votebook mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We have engineered Votebook to function entirely without the need for your personal information. Specifically:

  • No User Accounts: There is no registration, login, or account creation process required to use the App.
  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not ask for, collect, or record any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or location).
  • No Background Tracking: We do not automatically scrape or collect data regarding your device, your browsing habits, or your IP address for our own analytics or tracking purposes.
  • No Remote Databases: Votebook does not utilize remote backend databases to store user data. No personal information from you is transmitted to or stored on our servers, nor is any personal information saved locally on your device by our App.

3. Third-Party Services and App Dependencies

While Votebook itself does not collect or store your data, the App utilizes certain third-party libraries and native operating system capabilities to function correctly. Based on our architecture (Version 1.0.0), here is how our integrations may handle data:

  • In-App Purchases (RevenueCat): If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed securely by the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We use RevenueCat (react-native-purchases) to manage these transactions. RevenueCat generates an anonymous App User ID to validate purchase receipts and unlock features. This ID is strictly used for purchase validation and is not linked to your personal identity, as we collect no personal data to link it to.
  • Customer Support (@emailjs/react-native / expo-mail-composer): If you choose to contact us for support via email, your device’s native email client will be used, or the message will be routed through EmailJS. We will only see the email address you use to send the message and any information you explicitly include in the email body. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and resolve your issue. Any correspondence is retained only as long as necessary to address your request and is subsequently deleted.
  • App Store Crash Logs: If your app crashes, Apple or Google may collect generic crash logs and performance data, provided you have opted into sharing analytics with developers in your device’s global settings. This data is fully anonymized and aggregated.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because Votebook does not collect, process, or store any personal data or user accounts, there is no personal data to retain. Consequently, there is no user data to delete. If you have contacted us via email for support and wish for us to delete your email correspondence from our support inbox, you may request this by contacting us at [email protected].

5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Other Laws)

Depending on your location, you may have rights under various data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These rights generally include the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because we do not collect or store any personal data, there is no data of yours in our possession to access, correct, or delete.

6. Third-Party Links

Votebook may contain links to external websites (such as government websites, public official pages, or educational resources) that are not operated by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect zero personal information by design, children’s data is inherently protected. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about our privacy practices, please contact us.

8. Security

Since we do not collect, process, or store any personal information, there is no personal data residing on our systems that could be vulnerable to unauthorized access, breaches, or leaks. Your usage remains private on your local device.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our app’s dependencies or legal requirements. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page and revising the “Effective Date” at the top of the document. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
